Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at Gilliard Elementary - a year like no other! I am thrilled for all of us to be able to embark on a full year of rigorous instruction, engaged students, and joyful learning! I hope you enjoyed your summer and are ready to get back to work. My hope is that you are relaxed, recharged, and ready to start the new school year. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to the excellence in education of our students at Gilliard.

All signs are pointing to an incredible and productive year! We are committed to strengthening the collaboration between our school and the families of each student. I am privileged to work with a remarkable staff that will help transition our students back to a normal school setting after the difficult and challenging time we experienced last year. We are committed to insuring Gilliard School remains a celebrated and successful school that you are proud to send your child to. It remains an honor for me to serve as your principal. I am confident we can make this school year one of growth and achievement for all children.

This quote captures important wisdom about how to approach life (and schooling) to make it fulfilling and significant with purpose. Teaching and learning offers each of us numerous opportunities to focus on a number of "small things" that culminate over time to produce our students that are prepared to do the "great things" in life.

Together we will continue to be on the same team in raising our scholars to respect each other and all adults in our community. We are committed to CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT and we are determined to BE EXCELLENT in our school climate.
